buh bye Rasika aunty

Rasika aunty left after working with us for over 2 years. Ria howled and we are eating takeaway (out of neccessity) after over two years! That says it all.

2years and so much of growing up later
Rasika would never have gone away but for the chance passing away of a relative and the inheritance of riches in the village. She’s shifting with family to the village to construct a house and tend to her farms. Over the past 2 years Rasika had been a veritable Jeeves around the house. We could leave everything up to her and confidently go about our work without a care about who will look after the house and kids. Finding a help who takes so much of initiative and consequentially is given so much of responsibility is rare. It is going to be tough if not impossible to find a replacement. The current replacement burnt daal, poured half a bottle of phenyl in a small bucket of water and has been constantly driving us up the wall with complete clueless behaviour. This after we had her train with Rasika for 15 days before today solo flight (crash landing more like it). Pinky didi has taken off again (Rakhi + sick grandma so AWOL). Aaah well we’ll definitely come through and possibly find a decent replacement just that for now one wishes Rasika aunty was back in circulation …actually no, she’s getting a good life good for her… we just wish she had a few clones out there!
parting gift for Rasika auntys’ daughter Shradha
The plan is to have her rent a house for us in the village (a 2BHK with a huge courtyard comes for 500 bucks) and keep it in good condition. We would make that our weekend getaway with food coming from Rasikas’ kitchen. The girls could get Rasika to help with the home work over weekends and also enjoy sea side wildlife (apparently sea food is plentiful in the village where Rasika and family has moved to). We can work from anywhere so it wouldn’t matter in fact getting out of the noise and muck that is Mumbai so often would only give us more band width to think clearly and work better. Lets see how that pans out. It is a plan that could work in the long run.
